This Cookie Policy explains how the Tiber Lake website (the “Site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: the Site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It keeps a few small, functional items in your browser’s storage so that the website assistant and enquiries work, and they are listed below.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device fingerprinting. Some are strictly necessary for a website to work; others are optional, such as those used for analytics or advertising.
2. How the Site uses them
The Site does not set any cookies of its own. It does use your browser’s local storage and session storage, a similar technology, for the strictly necessary and functional purposes listed below. None of it is used for analytics, advertising or tracking, and none of it is shared with third parties.
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| tl-assistant | Local storage | A random code that identifies your conversation with the website assistant, so that it continues as you move between pages. It contains no personal details. | Until you start a new chat or clear your browser’s storage. The conversation itself is deleted from our servers as our Privacy Policy describes. |
| tl-assistant-resume, tl-assistant-prefill | Session storage | Whether the assistant was open, and any details it filled into the contact form for you, carried over to the next page you open. | Until you close the tab, or at once when the next page has read it. |
| tl-utm | Session storage | The page you arrived on, the page that referred you and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you followed. It is sent to us only with an enquiry, so that we know how you found us. | Until you close the tab. |
| tl-demo:v1 | Local storage | Used by the live demonstration to keep your demonstration chats and preferences on this device. | Until you clear your browser’s storage. |
Our fonts, images and scripts are served from the Site itself rather than from third-party networks, so simply visiting the Site does not send your information to font or content providers.
3. Cookies set by our hosting provider
Our hosting or security provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the Site against abuse and attacks, for example to tell people apart from automated bots. These cookies are not used for advertising or to build a profile of you, and they are needed to deliver a secure service.
4. Third-party services you choose to use
If you follow a link to a third-party service, for example to message us on WhatsApp, that service may use cookies under its own policies once you leave the Site.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies, and clear local and session storage, in your browser settings at any time. The Site works without them, although the website assistant will then start a new conversation on each page. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how some websites work.
6. Changes to this policy
If we introduce optional cookies in the future, for example for analytics, we will update this policy first and, where the law requires, ask for your consent before setting them.
