About the role
As Team Lead for AI Engineering you will lead the team that builds Tiber Lake's AI agents and own how every agent is designed, tested and shipped. You will turn what clients need into clear plans, keep projects on time and make sure every agent that goes live is reliable, safe and measured.
You will set the engineering standards, from code review and testing to evaluation, monitoring and data handling, and you will mentor engineers as the team grows. You will still build, taking on the hardest parts of each project yourself.
You will report to the founder and work directly with clients on the technical side. This is a remote role for someone based in the UAE, with client meetings in person from time to time.
What you will do
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of AI engineers
- Plan projects with clear scope, milestones and estimates, and deliver them on time
- Set standards for agent design, testing, evaluation, security and data handling
- Review designs, code and prompts, and lead the response when something breaks in production
- Build alongside the team on the hardest integrations and agents
- Agree requirements with clients and explain technical decisions in plain language
- Hire engineers with the founder as the team grows
What you bring
- 7 or more years in software engineering, including at least 2 years leading engineers
- At least 2 years building production applications on large language models: tool calling, retrieval, evaluation and cost control
- Strong backend skills in TypeScript or Python, with APIs, databases and Linux or cloud infrastructure
- Experience setting engineering practice: code review, testing, CI and monitoring
- Clear communication with clients and non-technical colleagues
- Based in the UAE
