About the role
As our Information Technology Specialist you will look after the IT that Tiber Lake and its clients rely on: Linux servers, email and domains, user accounts and devices, backups and security.
You will keep systems patched, monitored and backed up, set people up with what they need on their first day, and fix problems quickly when they come up. Just as important, you will write down what you did, so the next fix is faster and the same problem does not come back.
This is a remote role. You need to be based in the UAE, and some jobs will need you on site with a client from time to time.
What you will do
- Administer Linux servers: updates, monitoring, backups and tested restores
- Manage email, DNS and domains, certificates and user accounts
- Set up and support laptops, phones and accounts for new joiners, and close accounts when people leave
- Apply the security basics: access control, two-step verification, patching and regular reviews of permissions
- Troubleshoot issues for the team and for clients, and write down every fix
- Keep an inventory of systems, licences and renewal dates
What you bring
- 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support or system administration
- Working knowledge of Linux, networking basics, DNS and email authentication (SPF, DKIM and DMARC)
- Experience with backups, monitoring and access control
- Organised and calm under pressure, with clear written English
- Based in the UAE
Nice to have
- Arabic
- Scripting in Bash or Python
- Experience with Cloudflare
- An IT certification, such as CompTIA or a Linux certification
